The NORTON 66253263164 is a Type 5 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Constructed with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel measures 12 inches in diameter, 1.5 inches thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole. The 46-grit, coarse-grade specification makes it well suited for aggressive material removal passes where surface finish is secondary to throughput. Rated at a maximum of 2,070 RPM, the wheel carries the 32A46-HVBE specification and is marked with an H hardness code in the soft-to-medium range. It weighs 9.75 pounds. This wheel is intended for use on cylindrical grinders and surface grinders in production and maintenance machining environments. The aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond combination performs reliably across a broad range of workpiece materials. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The one-side recess design, with a 7.5-inch recess diameter and 0.5-inch recess depth, reduces wheel weight and allows clearance in recessed-hub flange setups common in surface grinding applications.

Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 safety standards. Flanges and blotters must be clean, flat, and properly sized for the 5-inch arbor hole before tightening.
