The NORTON 66253262686 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial grinding applications. It measures 12 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole, and runs at a maximum of 2070 RPM. The wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a vitrified bond, carrying a medium grade designation and J hardness code. At 7.4 pounds, it is built for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines where consistent, controlled material removal is required.
This wheel is suited for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is a standard fit for surface grinder and cylindrical grinder setups in production machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance facilities. The porous, vitrified structure promotes coolant flow and chip clearance, making it effective for medium-material-removal passes on a range of workpiece materials without glazing.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Series designation 32A Type 1, specification 32A60-JVBE.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Before mounting, ring-test the wheel for cracks and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the wheel maximum of 2070 RPM. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Always use the correct flanges and blotters for the arbor size and never force the wheel onto the spindle.
