The NORTON 66253262515 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for high-performance stock removal on ferrous metals and hard alloys. Built with a ceramic abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and long service life on demanding materials including stainless steel, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, and various grades of cast and ductile iron. It measures 12 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole. The wheel carries an 80 grit, J hardness (medium grade) rating and is rated to a maximum of 2070 RPM. Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding machine operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 safe guarding standards. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test, and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 2070 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Always use proper flanges and blotters, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed for at least one minute behind a guard before presenting work. Never exceed the rated maximum RPM under any operating condition.
