The NORTON 66253262261 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It measures 12 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, with a 3-inch arbor hole. The wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in a vitrified matrix, rated at a coarse 46 grit with an I hardness code. At a maximum operating speed of 2070 RPM, this wheel delivers consistent, controlled cutting action on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders used in production and toolroom environments. It carries the 32A46-IVBE specification designation from Norton.
This wheel is suited for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The porous, vitrified bond structure promotes cool cutting and chip clearance, making it appropriate for both light finishing passes and heavier stock removal operations in commercial and industrial machine shops.
Rated for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting, and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of 2070. Power down and lock out the grinder spindle completely before changing wheels. Use the correct arbor flanges and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer and wheel supplier.
