The NORTON 66253246900 is a Type 7 recessed surface grinding wheel engineered for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in professional metalworking and tool-room environments. It measures 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole. The abrasive is aluminum oxide, bonded with a vitrified bond and rated at 46 grit coarse grade with a J hardness code. The wheel is rated to a maximum of 2,705 RPM and supports both wet and dry operation. Licensed machinists, tool grinders, and industrial maintenance techs are the primary installers of this wheel.
This wheel is suited for aggressive stock removal on a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both production and maintenance grinding applications. It is designed for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. Compatible material applications include 400 Series Stainless, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Tool Steels, Aluminum, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, and Gray Iron. The two-sided recess design, with a 7.5-inch recess diameter and 0.5-inch recess depth, reduces wheel weight and improves clearance on recessed-hub flanges.

Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Use proper flanges and blotters sized for the arbor hole and never exceed the rated maximum speed under any operating condition.
