Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guarding requirements. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, verify the machine spindle speed does not exceed the wheel's 2710 RPM maximum rating, and confirm the arbor hole fits the spindle without forcing. Use proper flanges and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer.
