Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test on vitrified wheels. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 2485 RPM rating marked on the wheel before powering on. Never exceed the rated RPM, and always use the appropriate flanges and blotters when securing the wheel to the arbor.
