Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always perform a ring test before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 2485 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel. Use proper flanges and a compressible blotter on each side of the wheel, and run the machine under guard for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
