The NORTON 66253122824 is a Type 1 (flat) aluminum oxide cut-off wheel designed for aggressive parting and slotting cuts on ferrous metals. Measuring 10 inches in diameter and 3/32 inches thick with a 5/8-inch arbor hole, this wheel mounts on stationary cut-off saws and chop saws used in fabrication shops, welding operations, and maintenance facilities. The 60-grit aluminum oxide grain with a resinoid bond and M hardness code delivers a balance of fast stock removal and reasonable wheel life on steel and stainless steel. Maximum rated speed is 4585 RPM. Licensed trades and fabricators performing repetitive cutoff work on structural steel, pipe, bar stock, and sheet metal are the primary users.
This cut-off wheel is rated for use with stationary tools only. Typical applications include cutting mild steel and stainless steel in shop environments where a fixed cut-off saw is the primary tool. The wheel specification code 57A60-M8BW identifies the exact grain type, grit, hardness, grain structure, and bond, making it straightforward to cross-reference for repeat orders. It is not intended for portable angle grinders or handheld tools. Fabrication shops, pipefitters, and ironworkers will find this wheel suited to production cutting of standard ferrous stock.

This wheel must be installed and operated only by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Before mounting, verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4585 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the tool completely before changing wheels, and inspect the wheel for cracks or chips prior to installation. Always use the proper flanges and never force the wheel onto a spindle. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards and wear appropriate face and eye protection during operation.
