The NORTON 66253044314 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on a wide range of metals and hard materials. Built with silicon carbide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and thermal resistance during wet grinding operations. At 8 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, and bored to a 1-1/4 inches mounting hole, it fits standard surface grinder spindles without modification. The 100 grit, fine grade designation produces smooth surface finishes while the I hardness code and medium hardness rating keep the wheel from loading prematurely on harder workpiece materials. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum. Weight is 2.67 pounds.
This wheel is suited for wet grinding applications on 300 Series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool room technician familiar with ANSI B7.1 wheel mounting standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test; never mount a damaged wheel. Confirm that spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel.
