Built around an aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded in a vitrified matrix, this wheel measures 8 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, and carries a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It is compatible with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The 32A series specification (32A46-HVBEP) makes it appropriate for applications where controlled wheel wear and clean surface finish are required alongside efficient material removal rates. Grinding wheel installation and dressing must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guarding requirements. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test — do not mount a damaged wheel. Power down and lockout the machine before changing wheels, confirm the spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM rating, and always use the correct flanges and blotter paper as required. Run the wheel at operating speed under the guard for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
