Grinding wheel installation and dressing must be performed by qualified personnel following applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test, and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Always use proper flanges and blotters, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed in a guarded area before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
