The NORTON 66253043716 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Constructed with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel measures 8 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and carries a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 46-grit, coarse-grade specification makes it well suited for aggressive material removal passes where surface finish is secondary to stock removal rate. Maximum operating speed is rated at 3600 RPM. The gray vitrified wheel is porous in structure, which aids in chip clearance and coolant flow during wet grinding operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and grinding machine operators are the primary installers and users of this wheel.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both shop and production environments.
