The NORTON 66253043565 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat grinding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel measures 8 inches in diameter and 3/8 inches thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 60 grit, K hardness (medium grade) specification makes it well suited for stock removal and intermediate finishing passes on hard and soft steels, stainless, aluminum, and cast iron. Rated at a maximum of 3600 RPM, it is installed and serviced by machinist and grinding trades in production and tool-room environments.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Its porous, vitrified-bond construction promotes cool cutting and effective chip clearance during extended grinding cycles. Typical applications include surface grinding of 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
