The NORTON 66253038894 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous metals. It measures 8 inches in diameter by 0.5 inches thick with a 1.25-inch arbor hole. The wheel uses aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in a vitrified matrix, delivering consistent cut rate and free cutting action across a range of steel workpiece materials. Rated at a maximum of 3600 RPM, it carries a medium grade with an I hardness code, making it well suited for controlled surface finishing and flat grinding applications where wheel wear and workpiece geometry need to be balanced.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in production and toolroom environments. Its aluminum oxide abrasive is effective on hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and tool steels. The 32A Series Type 1 flat-profile design fits standard horizontal-spindle surface grinding setups common in machine shops and tool and die operations. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel.
