It measures 8 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, and carries a 60-grit, medium-grade specification rated to 3600 RPM. The semi-friable ceramic grain continuously fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, making it well-suited for heat-sensitive and high-hardness workpiece materials. Licensed grinding technicians and tool room machinists are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both production and tool-room environments. It performs across a broad range of difficult-to-grind materials including 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The 60-grit medium grade balances aggressive material removal with a reasonably smooth surface finish, making it a practical choice for roughing and intermediate grinding passes on hardened workpieces.

Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage using the ring test before mounting, and never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum operating speed marked on the wheel. Ensure the machine spindle speed is confirmed before operation, and use the correct flange size and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer. Dress the wheel with an appropriate diamond dresser before first use to true the face and open the grain structure.
