The NORTON 66252942800 is a Type 5 surface grinding wheel designed for stock removal and precision surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built on a vitrified bond with aluminum oxide abrasive, this wheel measures 7 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 32A specification series identifies it as a friable-free, porous aluminum oxide wheel rated at G hardness and 60 grit, suitable for medium-grade material removal. Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machine operator or toolroom technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guidelines. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Ensure the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed for at least one minute behind a guard before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
