The NORTON 66252942413 is a Type 1 vitrified silicon carbide surface grinding wheel rated for demanding material removal on non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and masonry. It measures 7 inches in diameter by 1 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 80 grit, medium-grade abrasive delivers controlled stock removal at surface speeds up to 3600 RPM. The green silicon carbide grain and vitrified bond provide consistent cut rate and wheel form retention across a wide range of compatible materials. Weighing 2.5 pounds, the wheel is sized for bench-top and pedestal surface grinders used in trade and industrial shop environments.
This wheel is suited for surface grinding and tool-room applications on 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. It is intended for use on CNC cutting tool machines, cylindrical grinders, and surface grinders. The non-porous, non-tapered, non-recessed Type 1 straight-wheel geometry is a standard configuration for reciprocating surface grinder spindles and cylindrical grinding setups commonly found in manufacturing, fabrication, and maintenance shops.
Designed for use with CNC cutting tool machines, cylindrical grinders, and surface grinders. Compatible material applications include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Series designation is 39C Type 1.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always power down and de-energize the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each installation using the ring test, and never operate above the rated maximum RPM. Use proper flanges, blotters, and bushing reducers as required by the machine manufacturer.
