The NORTON 66252942205 is a Type 5 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rates and long wheel life in both surface grinder and cylindrical grinder applications. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. A 60-grit, K-hardness (medium grade) specification makes it well-suited for moderate material removal on a broad range of workpiece materials. Maximum operating speed is 3,600 RPM. Series designation is 32A60-KVBE.
This wheel is rated for use on 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is intended for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in production shop, tool room, and maintenance environments. The one-side recessed Type 5 profile accommodates flange-mounted wheel configurations and provides clearance for the spindle hub. Licensed tradespeople and skilled machinists are the primary installers and operators of this wheel type.

Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and use only properly rated flanges and blotters. Dress the wheel after mounting to ensure concentricity before returning to production use.
