The NORTON 66252941762 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rate and form retention across extended production runs. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 5/8 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. At 60 grit and I hardness (medium grade), it is suited for aggressive material removal while maintaining controlled surface finishes. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on surface and cylindrical grinding equipment.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders, including CNC cutting tool machines. It performs across a broad range of materials, including 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The 32A60-IVBE specification designates the abrasive type, grit, hardness, and bond structure, making it straightforward to cross-reference against existing wheel specifications in a shop environment.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating marked on the wheel or packaging.
