The NORTON 66252941624 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on a wide range of metals and masonry materials. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, and is bonded with a vitrified bond for rigidity and consistent cut geometry. The 100-grit silicon carbide abrasive delivers a fine grade finish, rated for a maximum spindle speed of 3600 RPM. This wheel is suited for licensed machinists and tool-room technicians performing flat surface grinding work on production or maintenance applications.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. It performs on a broad range of workpiece materials including 300 Series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. The green silicon carbide abrasive composition makes it particularly effective on non-ferrous metals and hard, brittle materials where aluminum oxide would glaze prematurely. It is a non-tapered, non-recessed Type 1 straight wheel with no recess.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines accepting a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and a 7-inch diameter Type 1 straight wheel.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 safety standards. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or changing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and conduct a ring test; do not mount a damaged wheel. Ensure machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM rating stamped on the wheel.
