The NORTON 66252941622 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat and surface grinding operations across a wide range of metals and hard materials. Built on a vitrified bond with a silicon carbide abrasive, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and a fine finish at a 100 grit rating with H hardness code. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and accepts a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is suited for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision grinding technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This wheel is well suited for grinding 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Its green silicon carbide composition and vitrified bond make it an effective choice for hard, brittle, and non-ferrous workpiece materials where controlled cut rate and surface finish are priorities. The non-porous, non-tapered, no-recess Type 1 flat profile fits standard surface grinder spindles and tool room setups in both production and job shop environments.
Rated for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Material applications include 300 series stainless, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Fits spindles accepting a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified grinding machine operator or machinist following ANSI B7.1 safe use standards. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing a grinding wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel or its blotter. Proper flange size and a paper blotter between the flange and wheel face are required for safe clamping.
