The NORTON 66252941613 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for stock removal and finishing on a wide range of materials. Built around a silicon carbide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent, controlled cutting action on non-ferrous metals and hard non-metallic materials. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The medium grade, 60-grit specification makes it suited to moderate material removal while leaving a workable surface finish. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is sized for bench grinders, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders used in production and maintenance shop environments. Grinding technicians and machinists are the primary installers.
This wheel is appropriate for use on 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. It fits surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines that accept a 7-inch diameter, 1-1/4 inch arbor wheel. The green silicon carbide composition makes it especially effective on hard, brittle, or low-tensile-strength materials where aluminum oxide abrasives tend to glaze or load. The vitrified bond provides good form-holding and free-cutting characteristics across these diverse material applications.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/2 inch thick, 1-1/4 inch arbor hole Type 1 grinding wheel. Compatible material applications include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Series designation is 39C Type 1.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test; never mount a damaged wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Ensure the spindle speed of the machine does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum rated speed marked on the wheel, in accordance with ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
