Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 safety standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always shut down and de-energize the grinder and allow the spindle to come to a complete stop before removing or mounting a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage using a ring test before mounting, and never operate above the rated maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or packaging. A proper wheel guard must be in place before the machine is powered on.
