The NORTON 66252941165 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on soft carbon steels, tool steels, and super alloys. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent, controlled cutting action across a range of ferrous metals. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and accepts a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 100 grit, J hardness (fine grade, semi-friable) construction is rated to 3600 RPM and is suited for surface grinder and cylindrical grinder applications where dimensional accuracy matters.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both shop and production environments. The 38A Type 1 series is a common specification for tool room and maintenance grinding work on softer ferrous materials. A licensed machinist or grinding specialist installs and dresses this wheel as part of routine setup on compatible spindle machines. The non-porous, non-tapered, no-recess profile makes it straightforward to mount on standard 1-1/4 inch arbor flanges.

Mount between flanges of equal and correct diameter, tighten to spindle specifications per the machine manufacturer, and run the wheel at operating speed for at least one minute behind a guard before grinding. Do not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating marked on the wheel.
