The NORTON 66252941035 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on ferrous metals and high-performance alloys. Built with white aluminum oxide abrasive in a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action and thermal resistance during extended grinding cycles. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and accepts a 1-1/4 inch arbor. At 60 grit with an H hardness code and medium grade classification, it sits in the range best suited for moderate material removal without excessive heat buildup. Rated to 3600 RPM, it meets the demands of production surface grinding and cylindrical grinding applications.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both shop and production environments. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain self-sharpens during use, making it well suited for soft carbon steels, tool steels, and super alloys where consistent finish and dimensional accuracy are required. The white, non-porous, non-tapered, no-recess design conforms to standard Type 1 straight wheel geometry, fitting conventional wheel mounting hardware without modification.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Fits standard 1-1/4 inch arbor spindles accepting a 7 inch diameter Type 1 straight wheel.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards and applicable shop safety codes. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the maximum RPM rating stamped on the wheel or listed in the product data. A proper flange, blotter, and spindle nut assembly must be used to distribute clamping load evenly across the wheel face.
