Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Use proper flanges and blotters sized to the arbor hole and never force-fit the wheel onto the spindle.
