Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machine operator or toolroom technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting — ring test per ANSI guidelines. Power down and de-energize the grinder before changing wheels, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel.
