The NORTON 66252940007 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for material removal on a range of metals and masonry surfaces. Built on a vitrified bond with silicon carbide abrasive, this wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, and carries a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It is rated for a maximum of 3600 RPM and carries a medium grade, J hardness designation. The green-colored silicon carbide grain is well suited for hard, brittle, and non-ferrous materials. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and metalworking tradespeople install this wheel on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in production and maintenance environments.
This wheel is designed for use on 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. It performs on CNC cutting tool machines, cylindrical grinders, and surface grinders. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and free-cutting action, making it a dependable choice in both shop floor and toolroom applications where consistent stock removal and surface finish control are required.
Suitable for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Compatible material applications include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Fits arbors with a 1-1/4 inch hole.
Wheel installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following the machine manufacturer's mounting instructions. Always power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test per ANSI B11.9 guidelines. Never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating stamped on the wheel.
