Grinding wheel installation must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Before mounting, power down the grinder completely and inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Use proper flanges and a blotter on each side of the wheel; never exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum speed marked on the wheel. After mounting, run the wheel under guard for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
