The NORTON 66252939468 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on hard ferrous materials and specialty alloys. Built around a ceramic abrasive grain with a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and long service life under high-cycle production conditions. At 7 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard surface grinder and cylindrical grinder spindles. The 100-grit, K-hardness (medium) specification produces a fine finish grade suited to finishing passes and close-tolerance work. The porous, semi-friable grain structure promotes cool cutting and reduces heat buildup at the workpiece surface.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines operating in industrial and production shop environments. It is rated for a maximum of 3600 RPM. The 5SG Type 1 series is designed for aggressive material removal on demanding substrates including 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Applications range from tool and cutter regrinding to flat surface finishing where dimensional accuracy is critical.
