The NORTON 66252939459 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for aggressive stock removal on hard ferrous metals and specialty alloys. Built with a ceramic abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel operates at a maximum of 3600 RPM and delivers consistent cut rates on materials that wear out conventional aluminum oxide wheels quickly. At 7 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard surface grinder and cylindrical grinder spindles. The 60 grit, I hardness (medium grade) combination balances cut speed with wheel life on demanding applications including tool steels, stainless, and superalloys.

Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding machine operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always ring-test the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting, and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of 3600. Power down and lock out the machine before changing wheels. Dress the wheel face with an appropriate diamond or rotary dresser before initial use to true the wheel and open the grain structure.
