The NORTON 66252939112 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and thermal stability under sustained grinding pressure. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/8 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. At a maximum rated speed of 3,275 RPM and a 60 grit, medium-hardness (I) specification, it is suited for controlled material removal on production surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Licensed grinding technicians and tool-and-die machinists are the primary installers.
This wheel is built for use on a range of metalworking applications. Approved material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is compatible with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both job-shop and production environments. The porous, vitrified bond structure promotes coolant penetration and chip clearance, reducing heat buildup during extended grinding passes on difficult materials.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Rated for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the wheel's maximum rated RPM as marked; verify the machine spindle speed before operation.
