The NORTON 662529-42300 is a Type 1 bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for sharpening, deburring, and surface conditioning of non-metallic materials. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive grain, this wheel is suited for grinding materials such as ceramics, carbide tooling, stone, and masonry. It measures 7 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide with a 1-inch arbor bore and carries a medium grit rating, making it appropriate for general-purpose stock removal and edge refinement. Rated to a maximum of 3,600 RPM, it fits standard bench and pedestal grinder configurations used in trade shops and maintenance environments.
This wheel is intended for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders in shop settings where technicians and maintenance professionals need to dress, shape, or sharpen non-metallic workpieces. The green silicon carbide composition performs well on carbide-tipped tools, glass, and similar hard, brittle materials. It is sold individually and is a standard straight-wheel profile, making it straightforward to mount on compatible grinder arbors.
Designed as a standard Type 1 replacement grinding wheel for bench and pedestal grinders equipped with a 1-inch arbor bore and capable of accepting a 7-inch diameter wheel at or below 3,600 RPM.
Bench and pedestal grinding wheels should be installed and dressed by a qualified technician familiar with ANSI B7.1 grinding safety standards. Before mounting, power down and lockout the grinder completely, then inspect the new wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Never exceed the maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or listed in the product specifications, and always use the appropriate flanges and blotter washers during installation.
