The NORTON 66252849371 is a Type 1 (01/41) straight cut-off wheel designed for cutting aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It measures 6 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole and a 0.045-inch thickness, making it a thin-kerf wheel suited for fast, clean cuts. The abrasive grain is aluminum oxide, bonded with a resinoid bond and reinforced on both sides for added safety during operation. Rated at 10,185 RPM maximum, this wheel is appropriate for use on standard angle grinders and cut-off machines. Metal fabricators, sheet metal workers, and maintenance trades are the primary installers and users.
This cut-off wheel is built specifically for aluminum cutting applications and carries the Norton Aluminum specification designation. The resinoid bond and aluminum oxide grain are selected to minimize loading and heat buildup when cutting aluminum stock, tubing, angle iron, and extruded profiles. Its 6-inch diameter fits standard bench-top cut-off saws and right-angle grinders that accept a 7/8-inch arbor. The reinforced construction supports lateral stability during plunge and straight cuts. It is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed for use on angle grinders and cut-off machines with a 7/8-inch arbor and a maximum spindle speed at or below 10,185 RPM. Intended for aluminum cutting applications per the Norton Aluminum specification.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 10,185 RPM maximum marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never use a damaged wheel. Run the wheel in a guarded position for at least one minute before applying it to the workpiece.
