The NORTON 66252843204 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on angle grinders. It measures 4.5 inches in diameter and 0.125 inches thick, with a 7/8-inch arbor hole for standard angle grinder spindle fitment. The abrasive blend combines zirconia alumina and silicon carbide at a 24 grit coarse grade, making it well suited for fast stock removal on hard materials including metals, masonry, and composites. The resinoid bond holds the abrasive grains firmly under high-load grinding conditions. This wheel is rated to a maximum of 13,580 RPM and carries a hardness code of T. It is sold individually and weighs approximately 0.175 pounds.
This wheel is intended for use in metal fabrication, construction, and industrial maintenance applications where a coarse grinding action is required. It is commonly used for weld grinding, surface conditioning, and edge work on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. The Type 27 depressed center profile keeps the grinding face flat against the workpiece, improving control and contact area during use. It is appropriate for both shop and field use wherever a 4.5-inch angle grinder is the tool of choice.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor. The Type 27 depressed center configuration is compatible with standard right-angle grinder guards designed for that wheel type.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by a qualified operator following the angle grinder manufacturer's instructions and ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel use. Always power down and unplug or lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Ensure the guard is properly installed and rated for the wheel type before operating.
