The NORTON 66252843180 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built with a dual-abrasive blend of zirconia alumina and silicon carbide, this 4-inch wheel operates at a coarse 24 grit, making it well suited for heavy stock removal, weld grinding, and surface conditioning. The resinoid bond holds abrasive grains firmly during high-stress cutting, and the wheel is rated to a maximum of 15,280 RPM. It mounts via a 5/8-inch arbor connector and is compatible with standard angle grinders used across metal trades and maintenance work.
This wheel is intended for use with angle grinders in industrial, commercial, and job-site environments where fast material removal is the priority. The coarse 24-grit zirconia alumina and silicon carbide blend performs well on ferrous metals, castings, and hard surfaces where a finer abrasive would load up or wear too quickly. At 4 inches in diameter and 1/4-inch thickness, the wheel fits compact angle grinders commonly used by fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and general maintenance technicians. Each unit is sold and packaged individually.
Designed for use with angle grinders accepting a 5/8-inch arbor and accommodating a 4-inch Type 27 depressed center wheel.
Grinding wheels must be installed and operated by personnel familiar with applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Always verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 15,280 RPM wheel rating before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never operate a damaged wheel. Ensure the grinder guard is properly in place and that the arbor nut is tightened securely before beginning work.
