The NORTON 66252838871 is a knotted stainless steel cup brush designed for aggressive surface preparation on metal and weld areas. The knotted wire construction delivers high-impact abrading action, making it effective for removing weld spatter, mill scale, rust, and heavy coatings. Wire diameter measures 0.014 inches, providing a balance of flexibility and cutting aggression. Rated to 14,000 RPM, this brush is sized at 2-3/4 inches in diameter and mounts via a 5/8-11 threaded arbor. It is used by fabricators, pipe fitters, welders, and maintenance technicians on angle grinders and bench grinders.
This cup brush is suited for surface preparation work in fabrication shops, field pipe work, structural steel finishing, and general maintenance environments. The stainless steel fill material is the correct choice when working on stainless steel base materials or in applications where carbon contamination from standard steel wire must be avoided. Single-row construction focuses contact force and makes the brush well suited for weld seam cleaning and edge work on metal components.
Designed for use with angle grinders and bench grinders fitted with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. Stainless steel fill is appropriate for use on stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous base metals where cross-contamination is a concern.
This brush must be installed and used by personnel familiar with powered abrasive tools. Always inspect the brush for damage before mounting and verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 14,000 RPM rating marked on the brush. Power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Use appropriate eye and face protection, gloves, and guards per ANSI B11 and tool manufacturer requirements when operating cup brushes at speed.
