The NORTON 66252837598 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on a wide range of metals and hard materials. Built on a vitrified bond with silicon carbide abrasive, it delivers consistent cut rates and thermal resistance suited to demanding grinding applications. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inches arbor hole, and carries an 80 grit, medium grade (hardness code I) specification. Maximum operating speed is rated at 4140 RPM. The green silicon carbide construction makes it well matched for non-ferrous metals and hard, brittle materials where precise surface finish is required.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both shop and production environments. Rated material applications include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. It is a non-porous, non-tapered, flat-face wheel with no recess, conforming to series specification 39C Type 1. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fabrication shops that require reliable stock removal and surface conditioning on hard or abrasive workpiece materials.

Grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA 1910.215 safety standards. Always ring-test the wheel before mounting and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4140 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the rated maximum RPM or use the wheel on a machine for which it is not rated.
