The NORTON 66252836836 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and free-cutting performance at 4140 RPM maximum. At 6 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it fits standard surface grinder spindles without adaptation. The fine, 120-grit rating makes it appropriate for finishing passes and close-tolerance surface work where a smooth finish is the priority.
This wheel is suited for surface grinding operations in machine shops, toolrooms, and maintenance environments. Compatible material applications include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. It is intended for use on CNC cutting tool machines, cylindrical grinders, and surface grinders. The green silicon carbide composition makes it particularly effective on hard, brittle, and low-tensile-strength materials where aluminum oxide wheels would glaze or load.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Compatible material applications stated by the manufacturer include 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gray iron, masonry, and natural stone.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-and-die technician following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and perform a ring test per standard procedure. Never exceed the rated maximum RPM marked on the wheel.
