The NORTON 66252836827 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials. Built on a vitrified bond with a silicon carbide abrasive grain, this wheel delivers consistent cut rate and controlled surface finish at a fine 100-grit rating. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and carries a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. Rated at a maximum of 4140 RPM, it is suited for surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The I hardness code indicates a medium-hard grade that resists loading while maintaining free cutting action on harder-to-grind alloys.
This wheel is designed for grinding 300 series stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper, as well as gray iron, masonry, and natural stone. Its non-porous, non-tapered Type 1 flat profile makes it a direct fit for conventional surface grinder spindle setups in both production shop and maintenance environments.
