Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards. Power down and lock out the grinder before installing or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting — never mount a damaged wheel. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4140 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel, and always perform a no-load ring test and trial run behind a guard before grinding.
