The NORTON 66252830736 is a Type 11 flaring cup grinding wheel designed for tool grinding and surface conditioning applications. Built with a Ceramic Alumina abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and long service life in demanding shop environments. It carries a 60 grit, medium grade specification rated at L hardness, making it suitable for moderate material removal on ferrous metals and hard tooling steels. The semi-friable abrasive grain continuously fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, reducing heat buildup and extending wheel life. Rated to a maximum of 4,585 RPM, this wheel is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-cutter grinders, and grinding specialists.
This wheel is suited for bench and pedestal grinding machines as well as dedicated tool and cutter grinders. The Type 11 flaring cup profile makes it effective for face grinding, sharpening cutting tools, and reconditioning tool edges. Its 5-inch diameter and vitrified bond construction are a common fit for light industrial and job-shop environments where precision grinding of high-speed steel and similar tooling materials is routine.
Designed as a direct-fit Type 11 flaring cup grinding wheel for bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and tool-and-cutter grinding machines accepting a 5-inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4 inch bore.
Grinding wheels must be installed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test per ANSI guidelines. Never exceed the maximum rated RPM of 4,585 printed on the wheel or its blotter.
