The NORTON 662528-43232 is a Type 27 depressed-center grinding and cutting wheel engineered for demanding foundry environments. Built with a blended abrasive grain of zirconia alumina and silicon carbide, the wheel is rated to outlast standard aluminum oxide wheels by two to three times under equivalent workloads. The 1/8-inch depressed center profile allows the wheel to be mounted on a right-angle grinder and used at a 90-degree angle for both cutting-off operations and light-duty side grinding. It is reinforced throughout to handle the mechanical stress of aggressive foundry tasks.
This wheel is suited for foundry and fabrication applications where operators need to clean parting lines, remove pads, and grind away slag on cast and ferrous components. It performs across a wide range of materials, including 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, and soft carbon steels, as well as iron. The Type 27 form factor is standard for right-angle grinders used in both production foundry settings and job-site metal fabrication work.
Designed for use on right-angle grinders accepting Type 27 depressed-center wheels. Suitable for foundry, fabrication, and metal finishing applications involving 400 series stainless steel, carbon steels, and iron.
Wheel mounting and replacement should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's guard and flange requirements. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during operation.
