The NORTON 662528-43202 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel engineered for aggressive material removal on metal fabrication and weld grinding applications. Built with Blue Fire Zirconium Aluminum Oxide abrasive, this wheel delivers a self-sharpening cut that maintains consistent stock removal rates throughout the wheel's life. At 24 grit, it falls in the very coarse range, making it the right choice when speed of cut matters more than surface finish. Rated at 10,185 RPM, it is sized at 6 inches in diameter by 1/8 inch thick with a 7/8 inch arbor bore, and weighs 0.5 pounds. Metal fabricators, welders, and maintenance trades reach for this wheel when rapid grinding and weld blending are the priority.
This wheel is suited for use on angle grinders in both residential shop and commercial fabrication environments. The Type 27 depressed center profile allows the operator to work at a low grinding angle, improving surface contact and control on flat or slightly curved workpieces. Common applications include weld seam grinding, edge chamfering, deburring, and surface prep on ferrous metals. The very coarse 24 grit construction removes material quickly, reducing cycle time on heavy stock removal tasks. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 20 wheels per case.
Designed for use on angle grinders with a 7/8 inch arbor accepting a 6 inch Type 27 depressed center wheel rated at or below 10,185 RPM.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by qualified personnel following applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate above the rated RPM marked on the wheel. Ensure the guard is properly installed and that the arbor nut is tightened securely before starting the tool.
