The NORTON 66243529876 is a Type 11 flaring cup grinding wheel designed for tool grinding and surface conditioning applications. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal on ferrous metals and hardened tool steel. It carries a 60-grit, K-hardness (medium) rating, making it well suited for general-purpose grinding where controlled material removal is needed. The wheel is rated to a maximum of 5,730 RPM and measures 4 inches in diameter with a 1-1/4-inch overall thickness. It is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and grinding room technicians working with bench or pedestal grinders.
This wheel is used in tool rooms, machine shops, and maintenance facilities for resharpening cutting tools, reconditioning tool faces, and general ferrous grinding tasks. The Type 11 flaring cup form provides access to tool faces and clearance angles that flat wheels cannot reach. The non-porous, gray aluminum oxide construction suits intermittent and continuous grinding cycles on carbon and alloy steels. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production and maintenance-level grinding operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for Type 11 flaring cup wheel applications on bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole accepting a 4-inch diameter wheel.
Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test. Never exceed the maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or listed in its specifications.
