The NORTON 66243522418 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for aggressive stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a resinoid bond, it operates at a maximum of 12,100 RPM and delivers a very coarse, 24-grit cut suited for rapid material reduction rather than fine finishing. At 3 inches in diameter, 0.5 inches thick, and with a 3/8-inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to compatible bench-mounted or inline grinding equipment. Licensed trade professionals and maintenance machinists rely on this wheel for heavy grinding tasks where surface finish is secondary to material removal rate.
This wheel is rated for use on 300 series and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is intended for use with flexible shaft grinders and ID grinders. The non-porous, resinoid-bonded construction handles the heat and mechanical stress typical of these demanding grinding applications without glazing prematurely.
