The NORTON 66243522221 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for aggressive stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a resinoid bond, it carries a 24-grit, very coarse grade with an R hardness code. The wheel measures 4 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, and accepts a 3/8-inch arbor. Rated to 15,280 RPM, it is suited for use in ID grinder applications where consistent, controlled material removal is required. The non-porous, black wheel body is constructed without a recess or taper, keeping mounting straightforward. Weight is 0.35 pounds.
This wheel is intended for use with ID grinders in industrial and maintenance shop environments. Its very coarse, 24-grit aluminum oxide construction makes it well matched for grinding 300 and 400 series stainless steels, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It fits a range of applications where rapid material removal takes priority over surface finish refinement.
Designed for use with ID grinders. Compatible material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Tool Steels, Titanium, Super Alloys, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, and Gray Iron.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA grinding safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test when applicable. Power down and de-energize the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the maximum RPM rating of 15,280 marked on the wheel or its packaging.
