The NORTON 63642595476 is a 2-inch ceramic alumina quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive stock removal, weld blending, and deburring on metal surfaces. Part of the R980P series, it uses 100% ceramic grain that continuously fractures to expose sharper cutting edges, paired with a resin bond system engineered to maximize grain retention throughout the disc's life. The polyester Y-weight backing provides durability under high-torque handheld sander use. At 60 grit, this disc falls in the medium-to-coarse range and delivers fast cut rates with a self-lubricating grain treatment that reduces heat buildup. Licensed trade metalworkers and fabricators install and use this disc in production and field grinding applications.
This disc is intended for use on 300 series and 400 series stainless steel, making it well-suited for fabrication shops, field pipe work, and structural steel finishing where stainless is the primary workpiece material. It attaches via the Speed-Lok TR (Type III) quick-change system with a Type R attaching interface, compatible with handheld disc sanders running this attachment standard. The orange disc with black button is rated for use at up to 30,000 RPM on appropriate tooling. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Speed-Lok TR (Type III) quick-change system and Type R attaching interface. Rated for material applications on 300 series stainless steel and 400 series stainless steel.
Installation is performed by metalworkers and fabricators using compatible handheld disc sanders. Before mounting or removing any abrasive disc, power down and disconnect the sander from its power source. Inspect the backing pad and quick-change button for wear or damage before attaching the disc. Do not exceed the disc's rated maximum RPM on any tool.
