The NORTON 63642585704 is a rigid silicon carbide deburring disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, composites, and similar hard surfaces. At 8 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick, the disc mounts via a standard arbor connection using a 1/2-inch center hole. Rated to 6000 RPM maximum, it handles bench grinder and pedestal grinder applications where consistent, extra-coarse stock removal is required. The silicon carbide abrasive delivers sharp, fast-cutting action suited to deburring, edge conditioning, and surface prep work. Machinists, fabricators, and tool room technicians are the primary installers and operators of this disc.
This disc is suited to deburring and edge-breaking operations on metal parts, castings, and fabricated components in both shop and light industrial environments. Its rigid construction resists flex during contact, making it appropriate for flat-face grinding and controlled material removal rather than contouring work. The extra-coarse grade accelerates cycle time on heavily burred or rough-cut workpieces. The disc ships individually and is sold in minimum quantities of 5 units per order.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter rigid abrasive disc with a 1/2-inch arbor center hole and a maximum spindle speed at or below 6000 RPM.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following the grinder manufacturer's mounting instructions. Always disconnect and lock out power to the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Verify that the machine's rated spindle speed does not exceed the 6000 RPM maximum marked on the disc before operating. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage prior to each use and do not exceed the rated speed under any circumstances.
